The Revd Dr Andrew Prasad, Moderator and all at URC Thames North Synod extend a warm welcome to our new website.

One of thirteen SYNODS within the UNITED REFORMED CHURCH ("URC"), the Synod has the River Thames as its southern boundary, extends to Romford and Upminster in Essex to the east and as far as Aylesbury, High Wycombe and Beaconsfield to the West. Thames North Synod includes large swathes of Greater London, Middlesex, Hertfordshire and the southern half of Bedfordshire as far as the town of Bedford itself. The greatest concentration of our member churches is located within the M25.  (Click here for map)

The Synod, therefore, is extremely varied in nature, embracing as it does the Cities of Westminster and London, inner city London, suburbia, many towns and villages beyond the M25 as well as including rural communities. In consequence, the Synod of Thames North is socially and ethnically diverse and encompasses areas of great prosperity interspersed with localities suffering real poverty and deprivation.
